Mateo though small, is a BIG part of our Tribe! He’s our original warrior. He was born with a congenital heart disease and at just two years old, has already had three open heart surgeries., four GI surgeries, and three neurosurgeries.

This is Taylor. She was born with a heart defect & has had more than a few surgeries in her little life. She spent many months (during covid no less) in Sick Kids Hospital under the treatment of the hospital’s wonderful doctors and nurses daily.

Max was born over 15 weeks premature and spent the first 91 days of his little life in the NICU. Thereafter, he spent the following 8 months at home on oxygen. Around 15 months, his parents noticed some regression in Max. He no longer wanted to stand at his play table or walk with his walker. A diagnosis came back that Max has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2.

Zoe was born with a super rare genetic condition called SLC34A2-CDG, She was only the 49th person in the world to be diagnosed with this strain of CDG. Zoe has spent time under the care of SickKids’ wonderful doctors and nurses for various procedures.

 Alessio- a 19-month old little boy was post natally  diagnosed with an extremely complex heart condition. At 5 months old, he had his second heart repair which was unsuccessful. He spent the next 356 days fighting for his life at Sick Kids hospital. His journey is far from over.
